Do you have a novel that’s ready, or almost ready, to send to agents or publishers but need an informed opinion first?

Have you ideas for a novel but don’t know where to start?

Are you somewhere in between the above?

I am always happy to chat about potential mentoring for aspiring authors and/or editorial work. As well as a PhD in creative writing from University of South Wales, I have over 17 years’ experience working with adults in higher education, helping them to achieve their potential. For mentoring, I ask to see a short piece of writing first to ensure the service is a good fit for both me and the writer; however, if you are yet to write a word but have a vision for a story, please do get in touch!

I offer a number of packages including:

  • A critique of your synopsis, first three chapters/10,000 words and covering letter to agents (£300)
  • Critique of 10,000 words of your novel (£250)
  • Critique of your full novel (price depends on length of book)
  • Mentoring over 3 months, 6 months, or longer (from £400)
  • An individual package tailored to your needs

Each writer is different and each book is different, so prices depend on what you are looking for – however, I promise they will be competitive. For mentoring, I offer a free 20 minute initial session (online) before you make any decisions. For critiques, I offer a full written report covering points of plot, character, pacing, dialogue and prose (length of report depending on length of submitted manuscript).
